Messengers of Mercy's simple beginnings were from
the garage of our founder and Executive Director, Dr. Soon Ja Choi.
The Spirit of God impressed upon her heart the principle of our
Lord as He fed the 5,000 with just two small loaves and three fish
that, "Nothing be wasted" (John 6:12)
Seeing the excesses of material goods in this country
and having traveled on various medical mission trips to countries
desperate for the very basics of human existence, she purposed that
she would begin to gather the "leftovers and broken pieces"
in this country and use them to further the work of God in less
fortunate countries.
In 1996, seven families came together to join their
hearts and hands together to form Messengers of Mercy, a non-profit
ministry directed specifically to Korean mission ministries in the
continents of Asia, Africa, South America, and Europe.
God has taken the "fragments" of wasted
material goods in this country, multiplied them for His Kingdom,
and is reaching His world with the love of Jesus Christ!
